Yakima SAMS Project
| 1. Review the core outcomes and major activities you proposed for your work this year with the Math Attributes. What, if anything, have you changed with respect to what you are proposing to do? We have added 2 high school teachers; initially we had only middle school. We have incorporated some of our new learnings about student efficacy and teacher mind set into the activities. 2. What related projects or efforts within your organization or partnership or elsewhere around the state are you building on or connecting to in order to help you achieve the goals of this project? We are connecting to the work we are doing in our new HECB Math 360 grant (building academic language and vocabulary) and the coaching efforts ESD105 is involved in at the high school in the partner district. ESD 105 has contracted with Dr. Catherine Good as part of the work of the Learning Support Department and the GEAR up program in the partner district. We are connecting our work with that as well. 3. Given your proposed plans/activities what specific materials or products will you develop that can be shared with and used by others in working with students and/or teachers around the Math Attributes? · Pre-post test of student efficacy · Note taking process description · Error pattern analysis process description · Possibly an electronic learning module based on use of praise 4. How (and where) do you see the work you’ll produce as part of this grant being utilized and sustained beyond when the grant ends in summer 2010? This work will be used in the partner district and shared with other districts in the region through our Teacher Leadership Group.
